Evaluation training and expert meeting Bratislava

Representatives of 14 youth organizations and 1 government agency took part in a training on evaluation methods over the January 14th-15th 2017 weekend. The event introduced participants to research design, quantitative (survey) and qualitative (focus groups) methods. Many welcomed the topics as things they had been considering in their organizations, but were not yet ready to introduce by their own means.

According to Tomáš Susedík, head of AIESEC Slovakia this was a “practically oriented event with a topic that is very ‘live’ in our organization - a superb seminar.”

The Slovak Debate Association organized the events as part of the From Measuring to Learning project, coordinated by IDEA and funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union.

The training was followed by an expert meeting on January 16th. Representatives of NGOs, head of a research company and a journalist sat through a brief presentation of results and methods of the MtoL project and then discussed their own perspectives on program evaluation and plans in the field.

Katarína Čavojská from the Slovak Youth Council, who participated in this meeting said: “SDA prepared interesting and inspiring event about impact measurement, with participation of number of recognized experts in the fields, making the discussion very rich in interesting views, opinions and ideas.”

The event was made possible with support from the European Commission. This communication reflects the views only of the author, and the Commission cannot be held responsible for any use which may be made of the information contained therein.
